Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that support children's learning and development across all seven areas of the EYFS.
• Provide high-quality care, ensuring children's physical, emotional, and social needs are met in a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment.
• Conduct ongoing observations and assessments of children's progress, maintaining accurate records and learning journals to inform planning and share with parents/carers.
• Build strong, supportive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, fostering a positive and collaborative atmosphere within the setting.
• Ensure all safeguarding and health & safety policies and procedures are adhered to rigorously, promoting the welfare of every child at all times.
• Support children during meal and snack times, promoting healthy eating and independence, much like the professional standards expected in kitchen and hospitality roles.
• Contribute to the overall cleanliness, tidiness, and organisation of the nursery environment.
• Participate in team meetings, training, and continuous professional development (CPD) opportunities.

Essential Requirements & Qualifications

• A recognised Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare (e.g., CACHE, NVQ, or equivalent).
• Proven experience working as a Nursery Nurse, Early Years Practitioner, or similar role within a UK early years setting.
• Thorough, up-to-date knowledge and practical application of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
• A genuine passion for child development and a patient, caring, and enthusiastic approach.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and staff.
• A current, clear Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one immediately.
• Paediatric First Aid certification (or willingness to undertake training).
