- Conduct ongoing observations and assessments of children's progress, maintaining accurate records and learning journals to inform planning and share with parents/carers.
- Build strong, supportive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, fostering a positive and collaborative atmosphere within the setting.
- Ensure all safeguarding and health & safety policies and procedures are adhered to rigorously, promoting the welfare of every child at all times.
- Support children during meal and snack times, promoting healthy eating and independence, much like the professional standards expected in kitchen and hospitality roles.
- Contribute to the overall cleanliness, tidiness, and organisation of the nursery environment.

Frequently Asked Questions
What qualifications do I need to apply for Nursery Nurse roles in Manchester M17?
Most of our clients require a minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Childcare, Early Years, or a related field. A Level 3 qualification (such as an NVQ or CACHE Diploma) is highly desirable and often required for senior practitioner roles. Alongside formal qualifications, you will need a clear, enhanced DBS check, paediatric first aid training, and proven experience working with children aged 0-5 in a professional setting. If you're unsure about your qualifications, speak to our consultants who can advise you on suitable roles and any necessary training, much like we do for candidates seeking warehouse supervisor positions.
How quickly can I start working after applying?
We pride ourselves on our speed. For candidates with all their documentation in order (qualifications, DBS, references), we can often complete registration within 48-72 hours. Many of our nursery roles in the Manchester M17 area require an immediate start, and we work to match ready-to-work candidates with these urgent vacancies first. The process is designed for efficiency, similar to how we handle immediate start chef jobs in Sheffield.
Are these temporary or permanent positions?
We recruit for both. Many roles begin as temporary cover for maternity leave, sickness, or peak periods, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate (temp-to-perm). We also have direct permanent vacancies with nurseries who use us as their exclusive recruitment partner. During your registration, we'll discuss your preference for temporary, permanent, or flexible work to match you with the ideal opportunity.
What areas of Manchester M17 do you cover?
Our focus is on the M17 postcode and its immediate surroundings, including Trafford Park, Stretford, Urmston, Flixton, and Davyhulme. However, as a leading Manchester agency, we also have roles across Greater Manchester. Whether you're looking for work close to home or are willing to commute, we can help find a placement that suits your location needs, just as we do for professionals seeking recruitment jobs in Leeds or HR Assistant / Administrator in Leeds LS12 roles.
What support does Catering Jobs provide during my assignment?
You will be assigned a dedicated consultant who is your point of contact for everything. They will handle your timesheets and pay, check in with you regularly, and be available to resolve any queries or issues. We also offer access to discounted training courses to help you maintain your CPD. Our support is ongoing, ensuring you feel valued and assisted throughout your placement, a standard we uphold across all sectors, from childcare to warehouse operations.
